No mood to maple...

tried to train my BAM a bit last night, but it was SUPER LAGGY!

i'm still going to have to rush 12 lvls on my bam before mech comes out... which doesn’t leave me with much time at all but... ah wells.

gng out with my family to the asian civilisation museum later, so don't feel like gng on maple now. instead i've updated my other blog with like tons of post so far today... see my twitter feed for the links...

no mood to train hero either. training is still as slow as ever, and like someone has been cleaning out my toads (see previous post)... haven had the mood to even go scar/targa even tho my char is still parked at kumpung. probably cos sch started and there is hardly anyone on9 in guild... no one coming with me to boss and piggyback on the free helms... :( i solo mostly cos of the scroll drops. and i can get a whee bit of exp... every little bit helps after all.

here's some math for... fun laughter and joy. sure, exp is reduced by a lot, but there's no more coring and... for non-hardcore/motivated players like me, it's still gonna take eternity to lvl. i just hope i can lvl up before the free ap reset i got from some thank you mapler event a while back expires. so that i can wash 1 ap to hp... just for the sake of doing so after the big bang patch.

too lazy to count how many i'll have to kill to reach 200. maybe next time.

Maple hates me

Totally wasted my whole day today. think i really tio MHU (Maple Hates You) today. by today i mean this waking day, so that started from like 11+pm on the 28th, till... whenever i sleep later.

ok. not the whole day, but almost 2 hours in maple.

i suck at jump quests... so doing the jump quest to toad is a chore and very slow process... jumped up to find toad a total of 6 times, 5 times there wasnt any toad, 1 time there was already 2 other guys standing there staring at the toad, and not afking zzzzzzzzzzzz not possible to ks them with my noob damage... no point either plus i dont like ks wars and such... gave up after that...

than tried to vega... but only gathered 4 ppl... the rest were not free to help bot... so that failed to.

in the end went hob king pq a few times with law n flame... best thing i got was a dagger att 60 from the boss...

3 bored heros at rex pq. we were getting more n more bored + sleepy by the min doing this pq.

sighz... wanted to get some exp from toad but no luck at all. went krex n scar/targ already else i would have gone to those...

now i'm bored n trying to hunt crogs on the ship btw ellina n orbis. 3rd try n no spawn sighz.

wasted my maple day really... shd have like trained my bam or smthing. tmr going out with my mum in the afternoon.

actually yest i was quite lucky... got 6 POTs from red map 4 in abt an hour... super duper lucky... feels like the hot and cold situation like very long ago... where i'd get really a lot of POTs in an hour or so, than very few for the next few days or more... guess my luck ran out after that.

ok, in some less depressing news, i got my beach chair on hero at last... will only have enough points to get the chair once... oh wells.




ok, i gave up mapling for today... nothing else that i feel like posting abt now... tata.

This is how i krexel...

Krexel has been revamped after big bang, and the original noob damage from the boss has been nerfed even further. Magic att hits me for 1 damage... And touch is like 1.7k damage on my hero with pg n max archilles...

Last time i've always been fumbling ard n ransacking my desk for some heavy object to jam on my attack key while i sit back to relax and maybe use my phone... Like wat im doing now while my hero whacks away at krexel... Here's wat i came up with after trying with various other objects like my fan remote and erasers, moving the att key to the space bar so a pen and my hp can jam it etc...







Used this set up for gaga fishing n core pq too...

Basically, i detached a rectangular mobile charm and stuck it on with bluetack. The stapler is heavy enough to keep the butoon pressed down and the stapler is long enough to reach the number row of keys with the other end of the stapler resting outside the keyboard.



You just have to take note whether ur char gets knockbacked out of ur skill attacking range... Or ur buffs run out... Or ur mp runs out if u dont have auto mp pot... Or ur chars stops attacking (maple botting prevention system, u will stop hitting aft 100 hits if ur char didnt move... Gettibg kb-ed will reset the count, but sometimes stance works too well)
B2 is better for me... I can turn off stance and stand in this cranny on krexel's mouth where i wont get hit off...

So i wont stop attacking and only have to watch the buff timings... Oh and the mob spawns at the 50% mark which can jump and hit u off ur nice perching spot.

Exp is quite decent for lower lvled players i guess? Of cos whether its better than training depends on how fast u can down it. 3.3m exp for b1 and b2. Sadly its only 0.13% for b1 and 0.21% for b2 for me... Total only 0.34% thereabt.. Sighz... Thats lesser exp over time than toad for me... But this uses 0 hp pots and i dont have to do a jump quest before that... U really cant count the map b4 krexel a jump quest... A simple maze maybe, but nope not jump quest. And i hate jump quests, even simple ones like to toad...

Sighz... Exp gain is really slow... Tho exp tnl is reduced and lvlig at low lvls is a breeze... At my lvl its not much diff. Esp for ppl like me with nub damage... Like i actually take more hits to kill at red 4 of time temple now... Making my overall % exp gain barely faster than pre-bb.

Oh wells... Krexel 2nd round is done and i shall end off here! Tat!

Another day in maple

Another day in maple, or rather outside it. Early yesterday morning at like 3:30am i went to get my last batch of 220 cakes from grendal, and of cos the pretty anniversary chairs. No SSes cos im not posting from my comp haha.

Tried to maple yest afternoon but the lag was horrid. I gave up in favor of doing something else more productive. Guess im stuck with getting a beach shoe on my wh. Dont have the motivation n time to get another 1k odd points... Will only be able to get one beach chair from my hero. Oh wells. Still gotta train my lvl 55 BAM to 70 for the ring before mech comes out. Sch restarts tmr for pri to jc peeps so hopefully the laggy situation will be no more yay!

Ok... In some non maple related news i shall post some pics of this iphone game i play on n off - megu kawaii pets. The drawings are really really cute tho there isnt much to do in the game. They recently had an update that included more evolutions n an increased lvl cap. The game is free so go give it a try if you too find the drawings cute.

When i started playing the game it was only partially translated. Now its fully translated (from japanese to english) already. Not sure if the english support is any better now... But you basically have to feed and clean ur pet regularly. To make it evolve however, you must charge up ur pet to full power by literally charging ur phone when the app is running. U just need to plug it it, once it registers u can plug out ur phone... The pet will evolve when it reaches 99 charge and other secret conditions (if any, for special evolutions only) are met. It can only gain 20 charge a day so be patient.

As you should know by now, hidden-street is in no way related to Nexon or AsiaSoft. We are not the developers, we do not work at AsiaSoft, we are not in game GMs, we are not UserGMs, we are not even the AsiaSoft Forum moderators. No matter how many times this was repeated in the annoucements, some idiots still cant get this into their head. Here's a small sample of what those jokers keep sending us... (from HS-SEA forms only... i wonder if those visitng the GMS sites keep sending similar stuff too? or maybe they are smarter?)

Big Bang Chaos

Ha... its like i'm making one post per semester. I swear i'll make more effort to post... and i say that every time but man... posting the SSes to facebook directly is SOOOOO much more convenient. You can say that i've gotten way too lazy to post any SSes in here... its really very trouble some... i either have to upload the photos one by one to blogger, or upload them to photo bucket 1st before posting them here -.-'''

hmmm... so its been a last time since i updated anything here. i'll try to summarize wat i've done in maple in the past... half a year?

1) i chionged hero to 197... by... cheating yes... in core. sure i still have to hit and all, and i was the rusher too... i dont think its leeching, cos i am not! but its still cheating nonetheless.... too bad i had exams or i'd cheat to 200 and be done with it lol. its still tough to train the last few lvls after big bang. not that much of a exp rate improvement for those with noob damage like me. i take like 3 hits at TT red 4 now. still less than 1% exp per hour... didn’t take note of the exact exp % gained per hour tho. i guess i dont want to either. its depressing. bossing gives pathetic exp too. solo toad gives 1.8% only... sighz. now stuck at 197.

2) i played mech! on jms! haha. went to get a vpn and all to try out the mechs... jms was fun, think they have a cool event going now but i stopped playing ever since i stopped mapling cos of exams. love the monster book system in jms... really wish we have it in msea. since my japanese standard is really bad... interacting with the other players was quite a... terrifying? experience... starting from scratch in a server with rather bad inflation is... well i've gotta make use of those events to make my bucks, but since i'm not even playing jms now... yeah... the free vpn connection is kinda slow so... i dont think i'll really be playing jms anymore.

exams ended on the day big bang hit msea, so i've been playing msea only ever since.

3) big bang... well heros got the shorter end of the stick IMO. very short end of the stick perhaps. dont argue with me abt how 'pro' we are last time etc etc... (get ur facts right, we got pawned by NLs, BM, aran etc all the time). anyway if the classes were REALLY balanced, you wont see another re-balancing patch coming in jump. cant wait for jump to come. panic working on bosses will really give our damage a much needed boost. removal of achilles however, TOTALLY SUCKS. its not like heros wont get any damage? damn. i dont think our damage even after jump will be really good though. whereas palas get uber high def, hp restoration skills, AND high damage. darn. you just cant predict things in life can you? or maple.

i still love my hero tho, despite its nub damage and all. i've made a decision to stop cubing. its wasting way too much of my $. i'm not rich enough to keep throwing away money like that... i'm not even earning my own keep sigh.

3) resistance classes... WH lvl 77, bam still lvl 55 only. gotta get it to lvl 70 for the ring before mech comes out. cos i'm definitely gonna be playing mech XD. its so darn over powered i swear! even w/o any BOF or decent eqs, my mech was like 1hko-ing all the mobs at my lvl... something that my bam cant even do with decent eqs and a lvl 9 bof! sheesh! mech is really way over powered. that's maple's idea of balance. go play all the new classes, they are ridiculously strong, have cool skill animations, great skills at low lvls that beats wat others get in 4th job... sheesh. balanced my foot!

that's all that happened in maple... i think...?

in other maple related news....

hidden street.... everyone else has gone MIA again... even ice disappeared after adding the resistance skills. so much for all his talk abt wanting to do the thieve job skills and all the maps... i must say i didn’t do much in comparison to our uber fast admin saigo. seriously he is... its no wonder the two of them started the site. i get bored or tired after a while... he updates stuff for like the whole day.... everyday! he pretty much single handedly did all the mobs and maps updates. and like half the skills too. i guess i was too distracted with the game itself... T.T

but at least i didn’t run off halfway! and still did more than the rest of them...

speaking of which.. my training grounds guide still isnt finished yet. i did update the faq in lounge though, and put up a skill allocation guide too. tired... i shd go to xp and do the attendance taking event n head off to bed... but before i go, the SSes...

haha, quite a long time back i posted abt our 1st cwkpq... we had many rounds after that, and i necked evan and db.

it took my heros dam a lot of tries to get my 3 liner tho. was either wa8 necks, 2 liners, or just boomed in my face with the pot scroll. wasted A LOT of pot scrolls... T.T

in the end like i was the only one re-necking... and got to re-neck like 2 or 3 times in a single round...

law bought a few heart chocolates (or watever it was called >< ) as donations and kindly sent to the rest of us.

i honestly thought i'd missed it again (previously stayed till like 5am but to no avail)... than i randomly cc-ed and saw the blue message... and there it was... the shiny eyes... right in front of me! i was so excited that my hands were shaking...! thankfully there were no ks-ers... else i wouldn’t have taken any SSes for sure.

whee! speed and jump increase yay! i'm obsessed with getting max speed and jump on my hero, and faster movement speed for every one else too... so getting jaira was... just great. esp since the normal mount, tho having 180% spd... doesn’t add any jump! sucks cos i'm so used to the max jump (and max speed w/o mount!) on my hero. yeah, thanks to the evolving ring, my hero doesn’t need maple cape for max spd and jump anymore XD!

i saw this guy waiting in the map, so i cc-ed... either cc-ed or re-enter map... than i met jaira XD
dont think that all was so easy for me... i cc-ed and re-entered maps till my maple hang up and i have to restart maple... so glad i didn’t miss it XD. still i'm lucky to have gotten jaira on my 2nd camping session. hehe :)

my keyboard arrangements for WH. the bad thing abt playing maple on mac (dual boot xp) is that i dont have all the keys like end, home, page up/down, insert, del... wat else? i dont even have scroll lock to take SSes so i have to press Fn, F12 and ... and... darn... i must be too tired... either the cont or shift key... or smthing like that. 3 keys at once to take an SS -.-''' as if Fn and scroll lock key on my old lappy wasn’t troublesome enough... i really love my mac though. the worst thing abt it is that Nexon didn’t make maple for macs. sighz. that was the only thing that stopped me from getting a mac last time, and still is the only reason why my mac isnt perfect... and it’s the only reason why i installed dual boot + xp and the only reason why i log in to xp.

ok... enough of this... its really late and i still have to reboot to xp and do the attendance taking. ciao!

New semester, time table, and more

ok, i shall start with the more serious stuff 1st. this sem we get to pick 4 core electives out of 8... unfortunately for me, some irritating person seems to have taken the exact same 4 modules as me... *shudders*

i still have 2 electives un-cleared. one in AHSS and one in biz. all but 1 of the biz modules clash... and i decided not to take that weird looking module, so i'm left with 1 biz that i MUST clear next sem. got my 3rd choice - coping with cultural transitions for the AHSS one... went for the 1st lecture, seems quite a fun module/topic to learn, tho the lessons can get a bit boring... i guess its partly of the nature of the module... the kind of u-know-it-but-nvr-realised-it kinda thing. but it discusses the difference btw cultures and all... fits into my exploration into the japanese culture (all the HMJ classes i took previously, tho i still suck oh so badly at it) + language explorations (HMJ + the tech speaking module) pretty well. so yeah, decided to stick with it... plus with all the japanese shows that i'm watching right now... i think it'll be quite an interesting module... at least the lecture mat. will be interesting :P i dont forsee myself listening properly to the lecture much. think i already mentioned abt my classes clashing with japanese class this sem somewhere earlier.

CNY is coming... relatives coming over on the eve of CNY for reunion bbq dinner. luckily cos they came ard xmas/new year and the house was cleaned once already, there isnt much work (comparatively) to do now. for one, the only place that i need to pack in my room is my table. and the mirrors and glass panels/windows etc all seems pretty alright, dont think there's a need to clean them again XD *phew*

been bringing n using my lappy in quite a few lects already. not too bad... i dont exactly not pay attention becos of the lappy, since the same can happen with my phone, but it doesnt quite prevent me from falling asleep either... -.-''' oh wells. but now its like... i'm not sure if i shd print out my notes or not and such...

bought quite some bit of stuff on fri n sat. fri my family ate at my sch can 1, and then we trooped over to can 2 for frozen yogurt... and than after which we went for a walk in nanyang supermart. didnt have anything in particular to buy... than my dad took a can of beer... than my sis wanted some biscuits... than... than... we ended up buying LOADS of stuff. in that small... minimart. (the name is nanyang supermart if my memory doesnt fail me, but its quite small tho the variety of goods sold there is quite amazing)

saw this nice mug... black with gold words, looks really nice. they had a white in blue words version which looked just plain UGLY. since my parents were paying... XD

started using it to put my ez-link card... yes i wear the thing to sch... not too bad but i realised that tho it looks nicer to put the card on the underside of my wrist, it gets hot and scratchy so today i put the card on the top... ok lah... not really say more convenient, since i still put my wallent in my jeans pocket... maybe i shd try putting my condo card in the pouch too and dump my wallet in my bag... only thing is that i gotta rem to bring my ntu card out if i need it... but from my time table this sem i might not be going to the resource room much. i'm digressing... gotta add on a final thing that my beloved pantry is under renovation now. not sure wat they are trying to do to it. supposed to be done at the end of the month. oh wells.

on the maple side of things... haven mapled since like dec last year if i nvr rem wrongly... busy + no interest + all busy spamming cubes which i have neither the $$$ nor mesos for so yeah... waiting bbp, haven trained in ages... still waiting n waiting... maybe by the time it comes i may lose interest? idk... wanna switch over to xp to maple... shd go now or smthing... wanna get that valentines 30 day cape just for the lols of it...

the problem is that its so troublesome to switch from xp to mac and stuff... in sch now i dont even bother printing my notes anymore. mac all the way during lect. batt can last up to 4.5hrs there abt... my longest time is 4 hours tut + lect on mon non stop... so the batt still can tahan. that's the really great thing abt mac. i dont even both bringing the charger to sch on such days cos there's no power point anyway.

gd and bad things abt mac lah.... its not the perfect... godly computer as many mac advocates make it out to be. there are some features that i prefer the old windows xp/vista (not windows 7!) style like the multiple tabs in the task bar. note that i DO NOT group any of my windows. ever. why i prefer that? granted there are such like tabs on browsers which i used ALOT of. like there's more than 10 tabs open on the current firefox window, but i like to use different windows for different things too. like 1 firefox window for sch work, 1 for facebook (mousehunt and such just to sound the horn, i dont go ka poh and see other ppl's news feed or photos), 1 for AS forums, 1 for HS if i'm working on it... so that things dont get too messy. the old windows style makes it easy for you to switch btw all these windows of the same application. in mac, you have to waste 1 extra step picking btw the windows u opened in the same application. now very convenient when u open up alot of windows tho i am already becoming very used to the mac system (haven been on xp for so long after all... the most irritating part abt switching is that i use web browser shortcuts alot, and on mac the command key is used, but on xp, its the control key). so yeah, gotta switch btw mac n xp... on xp i cant even listen to any songs cos i cant access my mac hard disk haiz...
