Today wasn’t such a good day at all for me… started off with a sore throat, which became a flu + fever...

feeling much better now though, thankfully. Almost done with my protein 1 blastn so… that's good news i guess.

 

Saw this being sold in the pushcart stall in ssh yesterday… and just had to buy it… heart-shaped one for my sis, apple for me.

opps… sorry for the photo spam… but $2.50 each for a pretty, color changing light device, with batteries included… i just couldn't resist… well i was feeling really frustrated with the blast work so yeah, retail therapy? lol.

 

hmm… since this is a gaming blog… it won't be complete without this yeah?

Anyone missed me?

Hello! anyone missed me? back.... exams are over! yeah... stopped myself from blogging cos of the exams... but last paper ended yest!

i did patch my maple sometime back, but i was too lazy to update....

hmm... professions...

my hero got mining and jewel crafting, my mech got mining n blacksmithing... and evan went herbalism and alchemy. managed to get all of them to lvl 7/5 for the rewards from the event a few days back... nothing good from the rewards tho, just the 4 slot bag... which my evan really needs cos i'm so out of etc item space with all the herb flowers and seeds and stuff....

totally no mood to maple now tho. pvp was fun. for a while... till the capture the flag came and the changes that totally ruined pvp. now there are hackers on pvp too... its like now its even hard for me to get 1.5k points on hero. absolutely ridiculous...! i spend more time reviving and re-buffing after i died than i spend actually HITTING others. really PATHETIC. totally killed my mood to maple after that... how the heck will i be able to get emblems like this???? esp on my mech who dies before i can even finish 1 siege mode... zzzzzzzzzzz! warriors just suck big time in pvp now. we can run anywhere... and we die in 7 hits... easy enough for any range attackers to kill....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz pathetic! so yeah... no mood to play maple at all.

previously was busy with all the sch projects, finding fyp etc... so its been like... eons since i last did anything on hs. with all the new patch contents being total rip offs from gms, it seems like there's no point anyway... just get a mechanism to let us port data from gms over to the hs-sea side... someone iboxed AS and asked if they could help us out with the data/info stuff, but we only got a negative reply...... oh wells... i'll talk to jon/saigo probably next week or smthing to see wat i shd do... i do feel a lot like quiting hs, and maple.... well it is abt time after all... i'm not that young anymore... and maple is just way too SGD oriented to play these days... i absolutely DESPISE those ppl who buy mesos. yes, i'm talking abt someone in the lounge whom everyone else dislikes too. shant say more, but if you're reading this, u know who you are. and don't bother requesting bl again. i wont accept it. your. attitude. is. pathetic.

What I've done?

I bet you all are wondering what i've been up to... no updates on chaos... no nothing.

Yup... indeed... it's been like... 2-3 weeks or smthing? since i last went on XP. Nope, still haven patched maple... Reason? One word: School.

Been busy with numerous projects, presentations, worrying abt finding my own fyp etc... haven had the time or even mood to maple... and exams are drawing really near...

sorry, don't have anything interesting to talk abt right now...

its possible that i may only go back to mapling after my exams...

talked to saigo the other day abt HS... well it's high time i gave them some explanation abt my complete disappearance... heard that they were planning on a db revamp, to make things like keying in the info easier/more automated... its really great to hear that even after so long, they are still putting in so much effort and time into the site, you two are really superb! they've been focused on the GMS site for quite some time already, working to put in the ascension data etc... since so far msea has merely been taking the patches directly off GMS, i told saigo to focus work on the GMS site, and get Jon to make a system for easy porting of data between the two DB instead... no point having to duplicate all the data entry work on another database... all you need is for someone to check and ensure that the data is correct for msea, and make any changes if necessary....

sighz... so many dark clouds hanging over my head now. till next (next next next...) time...

not funny... so many server maintenance in aquila especially. i have to leave the hse ard 1:30pm... if there are no extensions i can still make it in time to do the quiz... that means that i will most likely NOT be able to do the quiz before i leave the house... so far all their recent server maintenance have like... ended up in extensions?

School's Back

Sighz... school's starting tmr (or rather, today)... i dont have any classes tmr, but i decided to drop by a lect in the afternoon just to see if its interesting, just in case i decide to change any of my modules i signed up for later on...

The biz law elective i signed up for (no choice, gotta clear a biz module -.-''') starts the 1st lecture on national day. Yes, NATIONAL DAY. 2:30 to 4pm... -.-''' the course coordinator wrote us an extremely long welcome message, with an extremely long winded explanation of why lect on tues goes on as usual... smthing abt sch schedule packed, darn hard to book LTs and all... oh wells... not that it really matters to me. Haven been finding the national day parades an extremely interesting affair for quite some time already... still remember when i'd be enthusiastically singing the songs while watching tv when i was in kindergarten... that was such a long time ago... hmm when did i stop being enthusiastic? it was probably the time when i got into a quarrel with my mum and she disallowed me to watch the tv till quite some time after the parade starts. of cos i was in no mood to watch it anymore... think i wasnt very keen on watching the NDP from than on. that was probably when i want pri 3 or pri 4? cos i rem it happening at my old house. wow, that's even before pri 5 when i got the watch the NDP rehearsals with the sch... (which was my 1st and last time so far seeing the NDP, rehearsals or otherwise, live). I wonder if my friend is still up for dinner outing on nat day... really hope she's willing to have dinner with me :P

Maple wise... well i managed to train during the 2x drop/exp event today. well most of it anyways. it was interrupted by my dad as usual... luckily i didnt lose the map cos of that. gained abt 3.7% exp on my hero, not bad... the POTs (as in piece of time) wasnt that nice tho... only 7 today... compared to 9 and 11 (or was it 12? i forgot) respectively last weekend, 7 is kinda sad... oh wells, i have more than enough POTs to make ONE reverse gun now, i just have to level up my mech to 4th job... managed to get my mech to 106 today... gained a pathetic 1 level... dont think i'll train mech much either in the following two weeks... and after that LHC will be here and i will be clearing LHC quests and grinding in there with my hero so... oh wells, guess my mech will be stuck at 10X for a long time...

Also, with sch starting, i'll only be able to go the nat day quiz once or twice a day... oh wells... i hope i can get a 3 liner glass on my hero...

last weekend before sch starts... the elective results are finally out, and i did get the biz law module that i wanted... sighz, the darn biz law module has to start on National Day! lecturer cites reasons like hard to get LT for make up lectures and having loads of content to cover as reason... sighz. gonna U/S this subject for sure...

anyone exciting over the coming aftershock? who's gonna make a UA? i guess majority of the maplers already have a 120 koc in anticipation of the bless of cygnus. if you haven yet gotten a lvl 120 koc, you shd train one... 24wa is a really superb boost!

School is starting...

sighz. sch will start once more in merely a week's time. all too soon.

i guess i did rushed a lot of lvls in maple though. more like the new exp to next lvl makes to tooo easy to hit 3rd job. WH 77, BAM 72 or smthing, mech 10X... i'm a bit stuck on where to train mech now tho... oh wells. wanna try out more places to train so that i can get a better idea on each of the mobs/maps...

stopped writing my training grounds guide for a while since i have not much experience in training at the revamped maps and mobs. simply listing out every single mob in maple certainly does not make a good training guide.

wonder when LHC will be out... at least it gives me another place for my hero to whack in. oh and i'll nid to hunt 12 more POTs from TT to get 45 pieces to make my mech's gun. really hope i'll get a decent wa gun, since i plan to throw in all 60%s. hmm... i don't think i have more than 2 60% gun att scrolls, if i have any at all... wonder how much they are in the fm now... hmm let's see HS...

Ok... this is very bad news indeed. DGP is gd to train evan on, but super duper crowded... so that's out... charmers i think is hacker filled... pink teddy spawn isnt very good... meh... guess that leaves me with the FM -.-'''.scar/targa don't seem to drop them either... only get sword/axe/bw etc att scrolls, but no gun as far as i can remember. arghs... i bet gun scrolls are at exorbitant prices now... NOOOOO! T.T

really hope i get like 5 or more passes... if the gun fails miserably i'll have to re-hunt the POTs... which would very likely take a month or more... sighz. the bad thing is that TT is not only flooded with hackers, but also has its lvl limit increased to 140 and abv. even more sighs... means i can't train mech there once i hit 4th for POTs and exp at the same time... gotta train outside till 14X. and that place is absolutely, disgustingly filled with hackers. you really CANNOT train with multiple hackers occupying every chnl. we need lie detectors that can actually DO something, like slapping those hackers with a perma ban. yeah, that'll be really harsh for legit players if they get slapped with one, but if its not a perma ban, the hackers will just wait out the ban, and come back once the ban is over. considering they have soooo many chars... its just too easy for them. that's why i mentioned in my previous post a time frame of 5 lie detector fails in a day... i'm not sure how bad the problem of lie detector abuses is, since i don't train at crowded maps... gah. hackers, hackers everywhere. the game is starting to need all those anti-botting games like in runescape -.-'''

got some long over due work of updating the mob stats in HS. started and stopped previously cos the multiple copies of the same mob (but with diff stats) in the game files totally confused me. realised that i probably used the wrong stats to update some of the mobs... dang. gotta go back and check my work.

blah. now waiting for my Lion OS X to download on my mac. its taking SUPER long. like more than an hour has gone by already, and i still have 2.5 hours+ to go. sure the file is big at 3.7GB, but somehow i feel that the internet is much slower than it should usually be. sighz.

hmm... keyboard looks really dirty... since i'm waiting for lion to load i shd clean my keyboard....

New semester, time table, and more

ok, i shall start with the more serious stuff 1st. this sem we get to pick 4 core electives out of 8... unfortunately for me, some irritating person seems to have taken the exact same 4 modules as me... *shudders*

i still have 2 electives un-cleared. one in AHSS and one in biz. all but 1 of the biz modules clash... and i decided not to take that weird looking module, so i'm left with 1 biz that i MUST clear next sem. got my 3rd choice - coping with cultural transitions for the AHSS one... went for the 1st lecture, seems quite a fun module/topic to learn, tho the lessons can get a bit boring... i guess its partly of the nature of the module... the kind of u-know-it-but-nvr-realised-it kinda thing. but it discusses the difference btw cultures and all... fits into my exploration into the japanese culture (all the HMJ classes i took previously, tho i still suck oh so badly at it) + language explorations (HMJ + the tech speaking module) pretty well. so yeah, decided to stick with it... plus with all the japanese shows that i'm watching right now... i think it'll be quite an interesting module... at least the lecture mat. will be interesting :P i dont forsee myself listening properly to the lecture much. think i already mentioned abt my classes clashing with japanese class this sem somewhere earlier.

CNY is coming... relatives coming over on the eve of CNY for reunion bbq dinner. luckily cos they came ard xmas/new year and the house was cleaned once already, there isnt much work (comparatively) to do now. for one, the only place that i need to pack in my room is my table. and the mirrors and glass panels/windows etc all seems pretty alright, dont think there's a need to clean them again XD *phew*

been bringing n using my lappy in quite a few lects already. not too bad... i dont exactly not pay attention becos of the lappy, since the same can happen with my phone, but it doesnt quite prevent me from falling asleep either... -.-''' oh wells. but now its like... i'm not sure if i shd print out my notes or not and such...

bought quite some bit of stuff on fri n sat. fri my family ate at my sch can 1, and then we trooped over to can 2 for frozen yogurt... and than after which we went for a walk in nanyang supermart. didnt have anything in particular to buy... than my dad took a can of beer... than my sis wanted some biscuits... than... than... we ended up buying LOADS of stuff. in that small... minimart. (the name is nanyang supermart if my memory doesnt fail me, but its quite small tho the variety of goods sold there is quite amazing)

saw this nice mug... black with gold words, looks really nice. they had a white in blue words version which looked just plain UGLY. since my parents were paying... XD

started using it to put my ez-link card... yes i wear the thing to sch... not too bad but i realised that tho it looks nicer to put the card on the underside of my wrist, it gets hot and scratchy so today i put the card on the top... ok lah... not really say more convenient, since i still put my wallent in my jeans pocket... maybe i shd try putting my condo card in the pouch too and dump my wallet in my bag... only thing is that i gotta rem to bring my ntu card out if i need it... but from my time table this sem i might not be going to the resource room much. i'm digressing... gotta add on a final thing that my beloved pantry is under renovation now. not sure wat they are trying to do to it. supposed to be done at the end of the month. oh wells.

this sem... interesting courses but not easy... gonna work hard i promise!

on the maple side of things... haven mapled since like dec last year if i nvr rem wrongly... busy + no interest + all busy spamming cubes which i have neither the $$$ nor mesos for so yeah... waiting bbp, haven trained in ages... still waiting n waiting... maybe by the time it comes i may lose interest? idk... wanna switch over to xp to maple... shd go now or smthing... wanna get that valentines 30 day cape just for the lols of it...

the problem is that its so troublesome to switch from xp to mac and stuff... in sch now i dont even bother printing my notes anymore. mac all the way during lect. batt can last up to 4.5hrs there abt... my longest time is 4 hours tut + lect on mon non stop... so the batt still can tahan. that's the really great thing abt mac. i dont even both bringing the charger to sch on such days cos there's no power point anyway.

gd and bad things abt mac lah.... its not the perfect... godly computer as many mac advocates make it out to be. there are some features that i prefer the old windows xp/vista (not windows 7!) style like the multiple tabs in the task bar. note that i DO NOT group any of my windows. ever. why i prefer that? granted there are such like tabs on browsers which i used ALOT of. like there's more than 10 tabs open on the current firefox window, but i like to use different windows for different things too. like 1 firefox window for sch work, 1 for facebook (mousehunt and such just to sound the horn, i dont go ka poh and see other ppl's news feed or photos), 1 for AS forums, 1 for HS if i'm working on it... so that things dont get too messy. the old windows style makes it easy for you to switch btw all these windows of the same application. in mac, you have to waste 1 extra step picking btw the windows u opened in the same application. now very convenient when u open up alot of windows tho i am already becoming very used to the mac system (haven been on xp for so long after all... the most irritating part abt switching is that i use web browser shortcuts alot, and on mac the command key is used, but on xp, its the control key). so yeah, gotta switch btw mac n xp... on xp i cant even listen to any songs cos i cant access my mac hard disk haiz...

ok lah... getting kinda eager to maple for some unknown reason... with that said i shall go on xp... but before i go... since i was bored just now, went to search some ASCII pics and found this:

1stly... my time table suxs to the core. 30mins lunch break on monday? 8:30am classes everyday.... classes end at like 5:30pm almost everyday... loads of breaks in btw classes.... cos somehow they no longer offer my favorite 5:30-7 slot for my jap elective i had to pick the morning class - heck, there are only 3 to pick from, not a lot of choice really, the other two classes all starts at 4:30 which wonderfully clashes with all my 3:30-5:30 lectures. so i had to pick the lab class on wedn morning instead to accommodate my jap elective... so that makes 5 whole days of morning classes when it could have been four. (otherwise my lap would have been on thurs afternoon)

2nd and most pissing reason...
as i've just written abv.... i purposely picked the wedn lab so that i can take jap. than this week, cos wedn the lab will be cut by 1 hour due to some union day crp... the lecturer happily canceled the lab on wedn and put it on thurs! great, now it clashes with my jap. too bad, i went for jap class and cut 30++mins of lab. not like anyone apart from my group mates knew or noticed. they are super heck care really.

than the situation is gonna repeat next week...

arghs, cant stand the sch! next week's lab = go bukit timah hill on field trip. they happily go by alphabetical order, and cos my name right at the end a whole bunch of us got assigned to thursday group instead cos wedn not enough space or smthing... i.e. repeat of this week's time table clash except this one is totally cmi cos its a field trip -.-'''
zzzzzz emailed the person n ask for a swap liao but this is dam zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

at 1st i tot, ok, they want to make it fair and give everyone 3hours, tho we didnt use more than 2 hours.... than my friend whose lab is supposed to be on thurs say (they separate the groups into labs at the basement n on 2nd floor) the lecturer told them to finish up fast cos someone was gng in to use the lab at 1:30 (2 hours aft the lab session starts). than he say they shdnt use more than like 1.5hours or smthing... great? why did wedn's lab get canceled than??? and why the heck is someone coming in to use the lab when its originally our year 3 lab time slot???? this is just so screwed i dont even know wat to make of it anymore... (if the arguement was that some lab session was held during wedn's timeslot, hello... that's supposed to be our timeslot, why isit taken up by others? cos of union day? all that shd have been planned and taken into account earlier on right? lack of communication btw the uni n the schs? screwed up stuff really)

than the sch came up with new measures like installing lockers outside the lab for us to put our bags... but hte lockers are so pathetically small... -.-''' i didnt try but i most likely have to empty my bag to fit it in -.-''' my friend with a bag smaller than mine had to take out her water bottle, file, and laptop to put her bag in... THAN put them in the locker individually (still the same locker, but the big package as a whole couldnt go in) like wth lah... thankfully if my labs are on wednesdays i shdnt need to bring my lappy or anything, so i can bring a smaller bag and fit everything in... but like yest with my laptop, jacket, japanese tb and notes... other leture notes etc... i didnt even waste my time trying, just bought it str to the lab. and its quite stupid becos they already had a cupboard thing on each bench for us to put our bags... zzzzzzz


than the electives system... of having to clear blah blah blah no. of academic units(AUs) in each category. too few choices offered, too few slots for those popular classes... and worst still more than 70% of the prescribed electives clash with my timetable EVERY SEMESTER. for some categories like biz where there are few courses offered, its as good as every course clashes with my core that sort of thing... at the end of the day, i'm just picking anything that i can bloody hell fit into my timetable, regardless of whether i like it or not (so long as i wont fail...). expanding our horizons and letting us pursue interests outside of our degree? yeah right man. which leads me to the next crappy thing i have this sem...

once again, what i've posted elsewhere(last night):

tired... time to slp... heng tmr morning lect dunnoe why canceled. only got a stupid info lit thing in the afternoon. would have skipped that too if not for the stupid project group forming thing... haiz.

its really stupid... she was talking abt searching google... going/using databases... and i'm like... google even a 3 year old kid can do... databases - we learnt using biological databases in sec sch... and they taught us again in uni... and we just had a talk in usin ghte sch library resources... and as the admin of HS-SEA (a DB)... wat the h3ck am i doing in the class really???

i cant believe that the sch actually pays the lect to come and teach stuff like this!

no im not being biased or anything but the kind of stuff she said in the 1st lecture was like... things u might say to primary 1 or kindergarden kids. in terms of the content, the way she said it... the lame, pointless stories she tells... haiz, i would have skipped all the rest of her lects but than there's some stupid project work thing... oh wells... for the free A... and to clear my AUs to graduate... at least there's powerpoints every seat in the lt and i can do stuff on my lappy...

ring event: managed to get rings for aran, hero, evan, dual blade to come... made a sin, but sadly made it to like 45 or smthing only and didnt get the ring T.T

the sunburst and the ravana hat: we all know abt how the event ended early and such... in the end only my aran managed to get a helm... but its a nice BLUE helm... really surprised... all the scar helms my hero looted were understat... this one is... abv average cool!
