Phantom finally 4th job… and other SSes

Finally logged in to maple after like two weeks… cos the justice shop going away mah, so must log in and use up the coins.

So yeah, spent the whole day in maple yesterday… used up my justice coins - changed for 5 chaos scrolls and used 3 on my pala's MoN, ending up with a wa13 neck - not bad lah. Was 14w a on the 2nd scroll but… oh wells. At least str went up to 8 str… but my speed and jump were gone. Aw… Opened up all my remaining ice boxes too and ended up with 2 more PSBs. Also made 2 zen and 2 more phantoms… just thought of random crappy names and made the chars. Didn’t even log in… but shd be ok right? o.o

Anyway, finally got my phantom to 4th job!

i was wondering where the hell that peach monkey forest is… needn't have worried at all… just follow the arrows.

cute. Warranty expired yesterday. LOL.

Beware… got pot lock… if i wasn’t more alert I'd have died… heng i saw and moved to the side to siam. K lay pot lock didnt last that long, but i wasn’t keeping my hp at full so… plus each hit from that thing is like 1.8k and my hp not very long. K lah got final feint so if really die also ok.

So yup, reached 4th job.

Went to the FM and the only job of interest that i could find was Drk so yeah… stole DI… what else? /heh

Pe… how the heck do you spell that skill? That's what i hate about phantom. Sibuay weird skill name. Can't spell at all. I thnk its what… french? 

Penombre - meaning dim light/twilight in english. Totally don't see the link between the name and the skill though. This skill is… kinda unique in the way it moves you. You move backwards a whole lot, and attack the mobs in front of you. But since you've moved backwards so much, the attack range is actually the mobs that were behind you from where you stood when you first pressed the skill. It’s a very fast skill though, and powerful enough at lvl 1. Fantastic if you can OHKO the mobs… just turn around, and Penombre all the way till the end of the lane. If you can't OHKO though, you use it in conjunction with rapier wit...

First your rapier wit, which hits and teleports your though the mobs w/o moving the mobs at all...

then you Penombre, which hits all the mobs that you just went through earlier. At the end of those two skills, you end up in the same place where you started off. So yup, that was what rapier wit was for all along. No pushing skill except for the lousy mills carte thingy which sucks IMO. Makes me really tempted to steal rush for my training purposes. 

So yup, went to get my papu quest done and whacked papu twice. Still have no gotten my papu quest done on my DS though :X

Whee lvled up with the quest haha. 30 fame yay, now i have 100 fame and enough to go to TT.

Since i was in the whacking papu mode… i went on my CS and merc too… and my merc lvled up!

Did 10 rounds of drpq on merc and managed to get it to 130… finally haha!

Hmm that's about all… Some things that i learnt yesterday. Mille Aiguilles range is kinda small… I'd always though phantom was a long range char… turns out its just mid range. PQ bonus exp depends on the average lvl of the pt… even though i was well in lvl range of the mobs at rjpq, i didn’t get my full exp cos the average pt lvl was too high… dang. I'd always thought it was just the mob lvl… haiz.

And oh, I'm just gonna give my comments, do read the actual events notes here.

Hmm a long list of stuff but… let's see how useful they actually are...
1. [System Event] Mu Lung Dojo Revamp (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 13/03/13, 0859hrs (GMT +8))
Hmm… I don't go mu lung dojo much so… doesn’t really affect me. Those high damage ppl will be glad to know that the  duration for Hero’s Gloves, Mu Gong’s Gloves, and So Gong’s Gloves have been increased from 1 to 7 days… the gloves will no longer work in the dojo itself though. So… use it elsewhere, but not in the dojo. The say the dojo rewards have been massively revamped… i wonder how massive is it… o.o. Belts last for 15 days instead of 7 days now… and the mobs in the dojo will drop scrolls to use no the belts. For me its still useless anyway. Timed item = useless :X
The revamp is permanent, but the event - all belts being epic on reveal, will only last till 13th of march.

2. [System Event] Golden Temple Reconstruction (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 13/03/13, 0859hrs (GMT +8))

Good news for everybody! The Golden Temple have been converted to a Theme Dungeon!
You have to be at least level 130 and have accepted or completed the “Noi More Tourist” quest from the Maple Mailbox before the Golden Temple icon will appear in the Mirror of Dimension

Interesting… i can bring my lvl 130 chars to go explore… like my CS and the merc who just hit 130 yesterday… and maybe my DS who's 129 now.  New theme dungeon but is temporary de? Weird sia… The rewards like not bad though. Medal with 5 to all stats, 1wa/ma - so so. Lvl 70 helm with 12 to all stats - like, whatever. But a ravana mask (eye acc) with 3 to all stats and 3wa/ma… Now we're talking. That's better than… having no eye acc at all. Lol. For all my new 4th jobbers whom i've been too lazy to train and thus don't have kenta's googles/any eye acc… yup this is good.

3. [System Event] Daily Gear Giftaway (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 31/01/13, 2359hrs (GMT +8))

Gaga is feeling generous in 2013 and have decided to give everyone free Cash Items!
Note:
1)The giftaway includes decorative items, effects and Nametag rings.
2)All items have a duration of 7 days

Eh so… look nice for  days… like, whatever.

4. [System Event] New Year’s Gift Boxes (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 31/01/13, 2359hrs (GMT +8))

Gaga is not the only one feeling generous this 2013! Even the monsters of Maple World are feeling generous too!
You will find monsters in most towns with a “Click” placards.
Click on the monsters and they will drop a New Year’s Gift Box.
The New Year’s Gift Box contains restorative items and trait EXP items, Secret Recipes, and a buff.
Note:
1)The boxes are given on a first come, first served basis.
2)You are only able to open 20 boxes per day.
3)The boxes can only be opened during the event period.

Eh… Want give then just give the box lah. Why make ppl have to camp in towns and snatch to click the mobs to get the box… Unless the spawn rate of the mobs are really good… otherwise a bit zzzz sia.

5. [System Event] New Mapler Welcome Event (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 06/02/13, 0859hrs (GMT +8))

Besides having events for existing Maplers, we will also be having an event to welcome new Maplers!
During the event period, new accounts created will be given the following items are level 10 and level 30.
Note:
1)The prize will be directly credited into your Cash Shop inventory if you are eligible.
2)Each account is limited to one level 10 prize and one level 30 prize.

Not a new mapler, and not gonna make a new AS passport either so doesn’t affect me. The prizes aren't that exciting either. At lvl 10 you get a 7 day mount coupon and a time limited hyper teleport rock. At lvl 30 you get a Monkey pet. K lay, monkey can help u pick up mesos for a while…

6.[System Event] Back to old School Maple (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 06/02/13, 0859hrs (GMT +8))

Oh no! An earthquake cause the Mirror of Dimension to teleport people into wrong maps! Cassandra needs your help to find out whats wrong with it and to fix it.
By using the Mirror of Dimension, you will be able to enter the Crack in the Dimensional Mirror
Entering the Crack in the Dimensional Mirror will bring you to Maple World in the past.
By helping the citizens of the past Maple World, you will be able to obtain Old Maple Coins.
By collecting coins and going to Inkwell, you will be able to exchange the coins for various Maple Items.

No idea how easy it is to ge thte coins, and what's in inkwell's shop so… can't say much.
7. [System Event] Dual Blades Rebirth (Event Date: 16/01/13, 0900hrs – 06/02/13, 0859hrs (GMT +8))
Same old stuff… free eqs at every X lvls, a DB ring that's slightly better than lirin's ring with 4 to all stats instead of 3… BUT this thing can't be freely transferred within the accounts so… that makes it really useless. Can use the sharing tag lah but??? Waste cash just for that ring? Not worth it leh.  You'll also get special mastery books when reaching various lvls… maybe i shd train my guy to 120 to get thorns and blade fury 30… but then I'm so lazy. Also, if you have old db Sbs, talk to the maple admin to exchange them to new DB SBs.

8. [Download] v1.27 Game Client Update
nothing, just the usual down stuff.

K that's all! Hmm maybe i'll check out the golden temple… and DB revamp… means i have to reallocate my DB skills again. haiz so mafan f3.

Game Client Update on 16th Jan - Patch Notes (DB Revamp)

This time round, they split the 'patch notes' into two, one called patch notes and the other events. Well let's take a look at the patch notes first...

Ok so let's look at the first item.
1. [System Changes] Game Changes
There are a couple of game changes made, some useless, and some nice...
a) Weapon & Armor Shops Revamp

You will now be able to purchase level 40 and below items from the Weapon & Armor Shops in Victoria Island.
That’s not all! You can now also purchase level 50 to 60 items from the Weapon & Armor Shops in Ossyria Continent.

How's this? Totally useless if you'd ask me. Who needs to buy low lvl eqs anyway? Like maybe… for the first day, or first two days of playing a new character… IF there's no event that gives you free eq, and IF you completely don't have any eq for that new character to wear. You lvl up to 3rd job faster than the speed of light… want sell also sell high lvl eqs lah. Change le like no change like that. -.-'''
b) Magic Stones Revamp
Simi is magic stones?

The Magic Stones that allows easy movement within the Orbis and Eos Tower have been revamped.
Orbis Tower: Magic stones have been added to 1st, 10th, and 20th floors. You’ll be teleported to other magic stone locations if you pay a set fee. You can choose to use Orbis Rock Scroll instead of paying the fee.
EOS Tower: Magic stones have been added to the following floors: 1, 10, 31, 35, 66, 70, 91, and 100. You’ll be teleported to other magic stone locations if you pay a set fee. You can choose to use Eos Rock Scroll instead of paying the fee.

So… its all the Orbis/Eos magic spots. Now you don't have to do those troublesome quests for Eos/Orbis rock scrolls anymore! No need to keep the stupid scrolls in ur inv and waste space some more! Just pay mesos can le! 10k for orbis, and 15k for Eos. Of course if you use the scrolls, then u save the mesos lah. Basically you can chose which other magic spot to teleport to, so make sure u pick the right one else you'll have to pay again. Good lah. Esp for Eos tower, last time to go up/down need what, 5 Eos rock scrolls… now just one will do (or pay one time). Not that we go up/down Eos tower often but… at least i don't  to keep my orbis rock scroll in the storage so that whichever char that needs and withdraw and use it anytime… so mafan! Just pay meso /heh
c) Scroll Seller Revamp

The various Scroll Sellers have decided to move in the year 2013! All 4 Scroll Sellers have decided to migrate into the towns after staying in the wilds for so long!
You can now find Barun in Orbis, Tulcus in Kerning City, Vega in Ludibrium, Norman in Leafre

About time I guess… so troublesome to go find them f3. But then again i hardly buy scrolls from them anyway. Last time would buy the overall scroll for dex and scroll the bathrobe. Now don't even need anymore. Please lah, i didn’t even know leafre had a scroll seller… LOL!
d) Monster Park Revamp
Woots, i've not been in MP since the last time they revamped it… and now it gets revamped again? Lol!

Monster Park monsters’ HP have been reduced. Number of monsters appearing for stages has been increased. Monster Park entrance ticket drop rate has been doubled.
Also, Special Monsters have started spawning in Monster Park, these monsters have a chance to drop epic grade or higher items when defeated.
Besides being able to obtain epic grade or higher items, when these Special Monsters are defeated, you will be teleported into a Hidden Treasure Vault upon clearing all the stages.
With the Hidden Treasure Vault, more Special Monsters awaits you.
Defeating this monsters will reward you with a Box of Greed. What lies within the box is a mystery that you will have to discover on your own…

Ok… so mad rush to loot the drops by special monster when you are in a PT i guess…? Exp wise… should increase right? Unless when they nerd the monster's hp the exp kena nerfed as well… -.-''' I can't test this tho, since i've not been in MP for so long liao. But makes me feel like soloing MP with my pala again… hey got special monster some more leh! More loot! Lol. Plus i have way too many tickets left on my pala. The hidden treasure vault thing gets me confused liao. Whole pt sent to the treasure vault or what? Or don't tell me MP one only for soloing? I'm so out dated… :X
Wonder what the box of greed will give though...
e) Silent Crusade Revamp

The revamped Silent Crusade will have some of the current level 75 and below quests have been removed or modified. At the same time, 22 level 120+ quests and 10 level 120+ Silent Crusade monsters have been added.
There is also a new UI specifically made for Silent Crusade.
The default hotkeys for this UI is < and >. Within this UI, you can find the information info and location of the monsters you have to hunt and you will be able to access the Silent Crusade from anywhere.
The quests in Silent Crusade have been divided into 4 chapters and you can now immediately receive your reward for clearing all monsters in the chapter from the UI

Hmm… i guess this is supposed to make things easier? Idk… maybe i'll go try and do on my hero and see how it's like….
f) Temple of Time Revamp

A new NPC, Johanna have been added to the map Three Doors
Some Temple of Time maps and resting spots have been removed and shortcuts have been added. Topography of some of the maps within the Temple of Time have also been changed. Starting level and completion requirement have been changed for some quests and some quests can now be automatically started and ended.

Oooo map changes… a general store in the Three Doors so you can sell off stuff… good good. At least when questing at that past hensys place and TT don't have to go all the way back to leafre! And auto start and finish the quests? That's  convenient! Maybe i should finally go finish the TT quests on my pala :P And check out the map changes at the same time.


2. [Mini Theme Dungeon] Spiegelmann’s Gonzo Gallery

Spiegelmann’s Gonzo Gallery is a new 1-person mini theme dungeon for players level 50-120.
Within the gallery, Spiegelmann is showcasing some of his most proud works but there is a secret behind those paintings.
Why not go explore and find out the secrets yourself?!
By completing the quests that Spiegelmann gives you, you will be able to uncover the secret and earn some nice rewards!

zzzzzzz lvl 50-120. I just lvled my phantom to 121 yesterday… oh wells… can bring my noobs like my sis's i/l and my bam there… IF i even explore that place… o.o

 3. [New Expedition] Hilla 

In the city of Azwan, as efforts of liberation spread through Maple World, its corrupt conqueror Hilla, has finally appeared to defend her control over the territory!
Challenge Hilla by talking to Medina.
There are 2 ways to challenge Hilla, the Normal mode, for those level 120 and above and the Hard mode, for those level 170 and above.

New fight for azwan mode… the rewards don't look enticing though… a lvl 120 cane, or a cash earrings, or a time limited pet… unless there's something special about the pet and earrings that i don't know about…? And the weapon… how come only got cane? Nothing else ah…? -.-''' that's kinda stupid… think we all phantom is it? We got other chars besides phantom one leh!
4. [Class Revamp] Dual Blades 
Now you can choose your DB gender when making the char, just like mercs, phantom, zen etc… can choose hairstyles too… and of cos there's all the usual skill changes which I'm not gonna list out here. my DB kena abandoned long ago so… /heh

So that's all for the 'Patch Notes' part!
Not bad lah, at least got SOME interesting stuff, like the monster park thing. At least will make me feel like trying out MP, even if its just for the sake of taking SSes. Oh the TT revamp too… maybe can go complete the quests on my pala… provided its not flooded with hackers by the time i log in… but i think it'll be… -.-''' oh wells.

Blocking of Cygnus Chamber Map

just when my guild's cygnus run was gonna resume… darn

Seriously though, i don't see how it'll help anything… just look at the number of hackers in-game everyday… Like way more hackers than legit players now. Can they really implement an effective anti-hacker system? Nope… they only come up with stupid stuff like 50/100 fame requirements. And its not JUST the hacking in cygnus that they shd be concerned about, there are SO MANY hackers all over the place that they need to catch. Or more like, there's too many hackers for them to catch already yeah? It's already become mission impossible.

It has come to our attention on the recent increase reports of hack abuse in Cygnus Chamber Map.

With effect from 4th January 2012, 1515hrs (GMT+8), Cygnus Chamber Map will once again be temporary blocked. Maplers will be automatically ported back to Henesys town when they attempt to enter the Cygnus Chamber Map.

We seek your kind understanding while the developers are working on a fix.

So RO2 Open Beta has started but LOADS of ppl are unhappy… going on the playpark forums to complain and crashing the playpark server...

Why? See the following notice:

Dear Asgardians,

We are happy to announce that OBT will start tomorrow, 3rd January 2013, at 1300 HRS (+8 GMT)! That is less than 19 hours from now!

However, it's with our deepest apologies that we announce we will not be able to provide the RO2 game service to players outside of our optimised countries - Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam - due to our licence agreement with the game's developer, Gravity Co., Ltd.

These aforementioned licence terms will take full effect from the start of OBT tomorrow and we deeply apologise for any inconvenience caused to players. We are extremely grateful for the support you have shown RO2 so far and we thank you again for being a part of this journey.

That's just retarded. Why make close beta available to players all over the world AND advertise the game on gaming sites worldwide when its the same few countries that can play the game? I saw a few ppl complaining about it in congregate chat earlier. Oh well, its Asiasoft, no i mean, fail$oft. What to expect right?

 

I feel like trying RO2, BUT 1) it only plays on windows, and 2) Its being provided by fail$oft.
