The Phantom of Maple

 

Trained my phantom test… till lvl 64 only. Much slower than previous times, but then i was quite busy yesterday and ended up not spending a lot of time training. But yeah, phantom is fun… very fun. Skill stealing is really fun. You have so many skills to steal and you have to be familiar with practically all the adventurer classes… esp after the revamps skills got changed and stuff. Of cos, being in a guild with phantoms a plenty means that you can always ask around to see what skills other people have stolen :)

The new character creation page. Its weird that the rate of growth of zen is 2 and 1 for phantom… when all my friends who played zen says its hard to lvl up. I guess i'll go try out zen sometime later myself but… I'd say that its not hard to lvl phantom at all! Took longer then say merc or DS, but i think the fact that all PQs have changed to start from lvl 50 has something to do with it. Ok, I'm not sure if it actually took longer. It felt longer cos its been 1 and a half days, but yesterday i actually didn’t get to train much since i was doing a lot of other things (i.e. housework).

You get to pick your gender (in the previous screen, no SS) for phantom too. And there's 2 hair styles and 2 face to choose from. And hair colour! I picked my favourite blue. 

Well to start off they force you to watch a video again… then you end up in your flying ship...

So there's some kind of conference in Erev, there's someone claiming to be the real heir to the throne instead of cygnus… and you are going to rescue them!

1st though, you have to infiltrate the place...

You get two skills to play with, ghost walk and chump change… both are only for the tutorial though… and actually, i didn’t use the skills to clear it at all. YOu just have to time things right and stuff. If the guards touch you, you have to restart.

Yeah, it was all a show… Cos you're just a lvl 10 phantom! Putting up the light show somehow made you go from lvl 1 to 10!

After finishing that mushroom killing quest, you are given an exp potion...

That lets you lvl to lvl 18. Not too shabby...

Not bad, they actually tell you which is your primary and secondary stat. Definitely useful for newbies… provided you actually read all the convo lol.

Flashy skills, as with all new jobs

Ah maple events! The cassandra coconut event! Collect 50 coconuts - dropped by any mob, except those in sg/msia (maybe zipangu too but i didn’t try)

that stuff heals 2k hp a pop. Great for my phantom, useless for my pala. Not like I'm gonna be training my pala though. 

There's also this traveling pouch thing that all mobs occasionally drop (no dropped in sg/my again). Gives stuff like gaga transformation potion, grey, ribbon pig, and orange mushroom transformation use item, also gives those monster park trait use items. Occasionally gives 60% armour luk/dex/str (that's all i've gotten so far anyway). Untradeable though.

Then you go to ask your intelligence collectors what they have… 

Woots, you don't have to pay for the black wings hat! Its free!

Talk to the captain on board your aircraft to move the ship! 

3 mins to anywhere! Nice right?

The to the skies skill lets you return the the flying ship. No cd. So if you need to say, sell off your etc, you can come to your ship, sell the items, then exit. You'll end up in the exact same map! Repotting wise… the merchant only sells noob pots… i didn’t even see pure waters there. There's the storage though so you can make use of that… like store all your pots in there first and take it out later when training :)

I didn’t ask the captain to drive anywhere and ended up in henesys...

3mins!

Ah, the quest that you have to wait 30mins. you can keep repeating it for more ice candy. Which also heals 2k hp each.

This quest, also wait for 30 mins. gives a buff that add hp, wa… and some other stuff. Depending on your level you get different buffs. Below lvl 30 its only 10w a, but lvl 30 - ? gives 20wa. Probably lvl 30-70 but I'm not there yet.

AH i did take a screen of the buff after all. Oh, adds hp, wa and ma, and speed. 30mins, just nice when the 30 mins is up, the next buff should be coming really soon.

Same old black wing henchman stuff...

Oh they sell all the town scrolls in there… so if you need any of them, its convenient. With the taxis costing 1k each and stuff, i don't think there's really a need for all these town scrolls anymore though...

lvl 25 cane from the quest… and that's gonna last me till… idk when. Hopefully my guild mate will pass me the lvl 70 cane that he no longer needs… :P else… gonna collect 50 coins on my phantom and change for the weapon from the justice shop. that'll have to do for a long time :P

This time its another series of quests, you have to go to pith harbour to take the quest from tru, who then teleports you to find the puppeteer.

Ah finally, swiping skills! 

You can only steal from adventurers. Merc, mech, DS, KoC - all don't work! There's also only a few skills that can be stolen from each job… basically all the passive skills like advanced combo can't be stolen.

Oh you get a notification after using the to the skies skill so that you won't accidentally go back to your ship.

I just entered the portal right away… only later did i realise that you are supposed to whack the lock to clear the quest… >< had to come back later to finish the quest lol!

So after clicking on the desk, you job advance and get a new medal!

then i went back to hunt the golem cores. 

Very flashy mob pushing attack - Mille Cartes. Nice range too.

Calling card. Your attack skill from 30 to 70, unless you decide to steal skills and use of cos. Thunderbolt and heal are great choices ;)

Ah wait, so I'm using a lvl 30 weapon now? not bad. I though the lvl 25 was the last weapon :P

After that there's the qest that brings you to rien.

No more quest after that though, at least till lvl 64. 

The phantom teleport skill leaves a nice trail of cards behind. I love the animation, but it took some getting use to. Its great for moving between platforms, but i miss the mage tele when i just want to move 1 tele distance away. Here i have to press the skill, arrow key, then press the skill to come out of the 'tele mode'. I wish pressing any attack key would get you out of this mode. You are in dark sight when teleing though, and by holding the direction key you can tele great distances really fast. Also since you can move up (and down) platforms that are quite far apart, it makes it much easier to train in maps w/o tele spots. Also great for things like ice knight and rex pq.

Go bored of dark drakes and skipped to MY to hunt coconuts and rehabs for the fame quest. 

yup. stupid rose change back to the old amount liao. 500 roses for collecting the 100 powers and hearts

At lvl 50 i went to PQ. Cos i was bored of whacking stuff...

10 rounds of hene pq --> 50-52

10 rounds of kph --> 52-54

10 rounds of ice knight --> 54-57

After that i went mp1 to whack...

Ah yes, the card prices. Not sure if they come with hidden pot… but probably not? But like the magic arrows you can keep buying and potting till you get a nice stat carte. 

After lvl 59 i got bored of mp1 and killed 100 pac pinky for the quest before settling down in gs2. Heal ftw! Stand right smack in the middle and all you have to do is hold the heal button and eat some mp pots. Still have yet to tried the revamped pyramid quest on any char… i'll try it out someday :P

Eh… what was this SS for? Oh so did i leave my char at 63 or 64 last night? i thought i lvled up to 64 sia. Whatever….

Some notes...

our 'FJ' is available from 1st job yay, its simply double space… WH jag jump style. Pretty animation :) Cos of that same skill, our max speed is also increased to 160%. So you DO need haste or speed eq. 

the 'teleport' takes some getting use to. i didn’t use it at all in the beginning till i started doing pqs. Ice knight in particular… after that I'm now much more comfortable with it.

You can switch between the stolen skills, but if it’s a buff, the buff will be cancelled if you switch it out. Yes, even party member's buff will get cancelled. So you can't use phantom as the ultimate (though troublesome) buff mule anymore (i rem pt members skills weren't cancelled in kms).  There'll be a message in chat saying that you or someone can't use that skill anymore and the effect is cancelled. (it should be somewhere there in my SS spam…) 

Skills to steal…?

For 1st job i got myself magic guard, iron body, haste, and dark sight. Dark sight is just for fun. Totally useless… iron body… for the def… magic guard is good. more survivability during boss battles and all. haste is what I'd be using most of the time though, unless i have max speed and jump w/o it next time… then maybe i'll use iron body. Boss battles, i might use magic guard. Dark sight? Just cos i have no other skill to take. Some ppl took lucky 7 and didn’t use that 1st job attack skill at all… i prefer the 1st job attack skill though, cos it hits more mobs! Plus i 1hko everything i whacked anyway...

2nd job… hyper body. heal. dark clarity. meso guard. Dark clarity is a viper skill, adds 30 wa and some acc… what about rage? also adds 30 wa… the diff between the two, is that dark clarity can stack with wa pots, but rage can't (according to my guild mates at least. After so many revamps I'm not sure about rage anymore, it never could stack with wa pots though… and recently, i never had an occasion when i needed to eat any wa pot). The good thing about rage though, its that it’s a party skill, whereas dark clarity is for yourself only. Take your pick. Heal is well… ur hp pot replacement. Hyper body… i don't have to say more right? meso guard is once again for defence. Coupled with magic guard and our high avoid, we'll be pretty much invincible at 4th job. I recommend using thunderstorm for training though, and get meso guard when you don't need thunderbolt anymore. Calling card is good, but only hits 3 mobs and in a straight line. For training, thunderbolt does a better job. 

3rd job… I'm not there yet… and not you can only steal 2 skills at any one time. HS is a must for solo training. combo would be great (ah my 1st job, crusaders!)… and magic crash would be helpful for bossing… that's what I'm thinking for now anyway. 

4th job there's so many interesting skills to steal but only 2 slots. SE is like a must… the other slot? idk. So many fun skills to play with… like all the full screen attacks. There's also advanced blessing and you can even steal ress! Basically it'll be like… steal what you like, have fun, change according to the situation. Like if you're going bossing it might be a good idea to steal ress to rv ur teammates. (of cos, it depends on what boss you go… and with who.) 

at first i didn’t assign a key to load out… eventually i did and make it fairly accessible… so that i can switch between heal and dark clarity when I'm free (say during pqs) so that i don't have to eat hp pots.

Phantom oh phantom

Honestly its been ages since i was THIS excited about maple. Yeah though i'm super excited right now... i didnt log on to maple immediately after patch was done this afternoon. Was busy with stuffs... then when i finally logged in to xp, i realised they took the server down for check... then came exercising, cooking, and dinner... after dinner was washing the dishes... then dad called me to help with his poster design thing. which took like almost till 1am (and is far from done, but its enough for today). So now? I have to clear a storage char to delete to make way for phantom. And since i have like 20-30 use items, and 20-30 etc items, and some eq to xfer... i'm xfering maple to my mum's comp else i'd never get the transfer done.

Gotta clear my own thumbdrive... its full with the DOTA, chinese paladin, and zoo tycoon2 files. All of which are my only copy... so yeah, ended up having to get my sis's thumbdrive, irritating her in the process. Waiting for the wizet folder to copy over to the thumbdrive now.

In the mean time... i shall think about my new phantom's IGN. Chem... Chem what? Meh. Want it to sound stealthy and thieve like...

Saw the guide for phantom. Love it... only in 3rd job you leave 1 skill at lvl 11. the rest all can max (well short of 1 sp in 4th job, but it'll be a miracle if i can even get to 13x). Basically. This means that i'll just read the skill description and add as i like. No need for skill guides. Love it :)

14th Nov!

Not been active on maple much. As you can see from this blog… i've got nothing much to say. I did log in to maple the other day, and also re-dl the whole maple program, so my wizen file is now 3gb large. HALF the 6gb is got to previously. For a 40GB large XP partition, 3 GB is almost 10% of the space (not to forgot that XP itself takes up space!).

Waiting for phantom to arrive, i think it'll be fun. Unless they increase the max number of slot though (which i really hope they would), I'd need to delete one char before i can make my phantom :(. Max 15 slots reached already T.T. I'll have to xfer like my recipes over or something. No space!!!!! T.T

Anyway I heard enchanted forest rose rewards got nerved back to the old one again, though they did add in the jackpot spin thing… i wanted to try it the other day, but halfway through protect the merlion, my maple hanged -.-'''… and so yeah… i gave up :P

So random SSes though… yeah. Just cos i've nothing better to post or say.

The justice shop and part-time job reward NPC in quick move menu...

New character selection page. Pretty, but I'm not used to it yet (not surprising tho since i've hardly logged in). Takes me a while to find my chars. Also the part time job thing, max a job can last is like 6 hours. For ppl like me with so many chars, just send those chars you won't be logging in to work (though i keep forgetting). Once you start the job, you cannot log in unless you cancel the job. I tried to cancel the job right away once and realised that you have to wait an hour before you can restart the job. Not a problem with my 15 chars though… :X Also for ppl like me with so many chars, they helpfully put a gift box on top of the char's head to remind you to log in and collect your part time job reward from the npc. Helpful cos i can't even rem which storage char i sent to work :X. I wish they had a 'return to char selection screen' thing though. To just collect 3 part time job rewards you have to log in 3 times! Very troublesome leh! Need to type the capcha some more T.T

Oh right. I only have this 2 SSes. Eh? I tot i tok one halfway during merlion? bleah. whatever. not like its very interesting anyway ><

Cygnus!

Been so long since i last posted here...

Well mainly cos its been that long since i last maple or trickstered.

Yes, so i went cygnus last night! Since maple closed and re-opened cygnus… that place is now FFA and has no time table anymore. So my guild has decided to move cygnus to like 12am on sat/sun! Well we missed one round yesterday, but ant managed to grab in the second time (amazing if you'd ask me) and we entered around… 1:30am or so. An infinite times better than 4am if you'd ask me.

So that marks the 2nd time i entered cygnus! Commander ant dc-ed halfway and since we were all rusty we didn’t down queen… More like… they were rusty, i was just plain clueless. Not completely clueless since i did go once before… but that was MONTHS ago plus at the ungodly hour of 4am so yeah, my memory of that learning session is very very vague now. Still kinda clueless on what to do and all, and yesterday the reflect timing for the SM instructor wasn’t done properly and i died twice T.T also while i was guarding the boss in one corner my luck almost ran out with a series of attacking coming though with the boss (no guard/blocking activation T.T) and i pathetically ending up running to the other side trying to save my skin with just 2k hp left after using both the pot plus the hp recovery skill :X

Also really wish this pala  had the hp of my hero. 34k w/o hb and 50+k with hb will be absolutely awesome. my noob 22k hp was barely enough to rush the SM instructor properly when the dk died and hb ran out. And well of cos i was noob and had practically no experience and that just made it a lot worst. Wouldn’t have died though if we got the reflect timing right… but 3 weeks w/o cygnus and it seems like they were rusty. Plus the loss of commander ant haha… that's probably the worst part. Glad my comp can tank cyg at least. Even tho it failed me time and again in cht. Also pathetic was the fact that i've not used my pala in months… since recently i've only been logging in for cwk with my hero, i got used to the hero keys and kept pressing my stance button on hero… Stance and MM are the major difference between the keyboard shortcuts for my chars so i kept mixing that up last night -.-''' ansi kept wishing for MM. Which i obviously did not have. And i forgot to threaten the SM boss at the start meh. Fail i know T.T

Still, i think i've gotten just a little bit more experienced with cygnus… hopefully the next run will be better!

Was quite a chaotic night for me yest… had to scramble to delete apps and stuff just so that i can patch maple. Somehow maple expanded to take up almost 6gb of space again sighs. No more dota and zoo tycoon 2 on my xp. No more open office as well. Now left with just 2+gb of space. Bad bad bad. Really nothing much left for me to delete either… At this rate I'd never be able to play the chinese paladin game my friend lent me. sighs.

1 reflect to kill them all! Hey at least it shows that i wasn’t slacking ok! i was hitting the boss! Oh wells. Net loss of 1.1% exp. Ok lah… now like lazy to train in maple also…  and what, phantom and zen warrior coming right? I think i shan't bother with zen warrior on my main account. Gotta clear up a character slot for phantom though :X 

Also since i've not logged in for so long,  the water of life i bought long ago during the offer persil expired T.T now i gotta top up acash to revive my pet since i've not bothered to log in xp to go enchanted forest for maple points either… but then since I'm not mapling now, i don't need a pet either. Don't need one for cwk, and don't need one for cyg either with the pot cd. Oh wells. I guess i shall just leave my alien as a doll for now. Hmm i wonder when my wheels expire :X bought 5 wheels that time and still have 5 left… wonder if I'd get to use them before they expire… though honestly I'd rather not :P at least i have 1.5k maple points to buy 2 wheel :P

Trickster!

So… i rarely ever post about trickster… but since I'm on my mac now with a wonderful blogging tool called marsedit… i might as well post something :P

Whee some old lvl up screenies...

Yes, so i saved up some points a while back… and now i've finally decided what to do with it… well it seems like either way there isn't too much of a choice. I'm aiming for the AoE skill ghostly whisper… BUT to get that i'll need a whole bunch of OTHER skills… scythe, rust… and the thing is that i don't like scythe that much, cos i have enough 1 hitting skills that take 1.5 secs to cast already… so yeah… in the end i decided to pick up SoA 1st, just as pretty much all the guides i've read suggests. Got enough SP to master SoA now, but i don't have the 4 tooth flower cards yet… :(

Ah yes, also decided to master cure. Whatever for? Just… wanted to get it mastered i guess. Heals that little bit more hp for hopefully that little bit more survivibility

Ah yes… tried to kill the 3rd boss in chaos tower. No luck… that guy heals way too much for me to kill within 5 mins :( i can kill him eventually, but i think i take like… 10mins or something? Sad… no box 3 for me. Now anyway… gotta lvl up some. Well since i finally got my guardian matured, I'm aiming for lvl 180 to hatch my guardian anyways :)

And ah…! i finally decided to go hit captain skull… whatever for? cos i was bored. And cos that stupid count blood absorbs magic and absorbs dark… i'll have to wait till I'm higher lvled AND have some elemental sword to bash him up with. No dark elements though.

I took SOOOO LONG to drill up the dang quests to fight him… all he dropped was some useless ultis… ah wells… 

at last i got 1 more boss seal… see my pathetic collection of boss seals there :P

yeah yeah… i fast tracked all my other chars… why? hmm… so that they'll make better shops i guess? higher lvl = more weight! LOL. Don't think i'll ever train the rest of the chars… i'll stick to my dark lord thank you. I did make a fortune selling off all the random questies and eqs and other extra stuff i've accumulated tho. Earned like… 15-20m maybe? XD

Been doing card ID the past few days i was logged in… managed to get quite a lot of SCs… meh.. forgot how many more i need… but i did get a lot of repeats… which I'd probably sell for $$$ :P i did remember breaking the halfway mark though.

Exclusive class and the phantom of the opera

So yes...

A very exclusive new class that's just unlike ChinaMS… with skills so unlike pirates and an EXCLUSIVE link skill that costs @cash in every step. I'm SO impressed.

 

Well the character card system is coming up too… bleah… my pala is still lvl 17x. Been so long since i last bothered to train it. Or any of my characters for that matter.

Only been logging on for the sole purpose of CWKPQ batches...

Anyway… phantom will arrive on the 14th of Nov. Looking forward to that, but it also means i need to clear a char slot for it… as for dragon warrior? I'll probably just make it for fun in my sub account… if at all… with the link skills requiring @cash… i really don't see any incentive for making yet another class which will be abandoned.

Phantom on the other hand, is interesting. Being able to copy skills is an interesting concept, but once again, eq wise is… zzzzzzz. I aint gonna spend no more @cash on the game, none of my chars will get an eq upgrade anymore… unless say after the cygnus batches resume AND they open up more CCs for bossing and my guilds go cygnus at some more decent timing. Meh… 

I do feel like giving my hero better eqs tho, instead of pala… IF i ever get cyg runs. Cos i have a perfectly nice 34k BASE hp (ok, with eqs, not completely base hp)… which is like ridiculously hard to get now, with that change in mp gain and what not… such a waste… all that $$$ put into hp washing… bleah… meh… been playing trickster a lot more lately tho...

Old stuff like i said. The merlion pet package… i think the merlion looks kinda… ugly… :X well the main thing is that even with this perm pets you still have to spend loads of $$$ on the perm skills… so I'd just stick to my alien pet thank you very much.

i guess this is the best run i got to soo far, 8.25k points from endless tower...
